That's the same way for me. The reason I do that is because 'Ra' and 'Mo' seem to have more umph and a stronger sense of sound than the other parts of the name.

Actually, I was suggesting that it's probably "Yeni-CHAIR-ee". According to the Wikipedia article Jimbow referenced, the spelling FPW uses has Turkish roots, and in Turkish the "ç" is supposedly pronounced like "ch" (though I don't claim to be an expert in this).

I have a memory, and that's always a dubious place to start for me, of Jack trying to figure out the word "yeniceri," which he'd overheard, and in his mind he alikened it to words with a soft "c" sound, more like the "yen i sair ee" sound that Ken V mentioned. I could be wrong, though.

That's what I recall too, but I also take in account that a lot of them might be american and not pronounce it right (seeing as probably a lot of us here are from the US and are having so much trouble figuring out the pronunciation, lol)
Was it Zeklos who said it (which Jack overheard) or one of the others?

I think the difference is that Blake is using the Turkish form and we are using the French.
Technically, he may be correct, but I still think of it as having an "s" sound.

Oh yeah, that's how to pronounce them alright, at least that is how I've been saying them(perhaps people have been snickering behind my back all this time).
