And is that the only wheel? I don't think so either....see ...even more questions.

I watched 15 minutes of the first episode of season 1. How could so many people survive that crash?

Because the island wanted them to.

We use the Closed Captioning when we watch (you'd be surprised what dialouge you catch in the background that you can't hear) and it says (speaks Latin) for both of them.

Maybe it's the village and well scenes that still have me doubting it. Those things happened before MIB died but it seems there was already a smoke monster. Unless we believe the fake mother destroyed that village herself and filled in the well. Which I would seriously doubt unless she was a smoke monster also. Which, again, I'm not saying isn't correct. I just don't see that as having been answered yet.

I think a smoke monster did the damage. But I think the smoke monster was called by the fake mother, as I said earlier, as Ben called the smoke monster to attack the frieghties.

Now, how did the smoke monster come to be? Who the hell knows. It's the darkness that must be part of the light, 'cause you can't have one without the other. That is not a satisfactory answer, though.

I cannot see how they possibly can sum up anything with just one more episode and then a 2.5 hour finale. Watch for LOST movies which will only lead to even more questions. Rolleyes

Well, as old as we know Richard Alpert to be, Jacob was WAAAAAAAAAY older.

Oh well, I least I guessed right that the young boys were Jacob and MIB as kids.

SPOILER ALERT FOR COMING EPISODE....OR RATHER A GUESS THAT COULD BE A SPOILER ALERT....
There's an interesting coming attraction clip on abc.com. I won't go into it so as not to spoil anything for those who don't want to know what's coming, but from it I've surmised that.... well.... we may see more than one smoke monster in the not too distant future. Just a guess on my part, but I've got a pretty good record of correct guesses thus far. That would be a fight to see for sure, Smokey I against Smokey II.

I think the answers we got were just vague non answers to just quit us asking about MIB and Jacob. Why can't they hurt eachother? They just can't cause I said so. Why does MIB want off so badly? Cause he wants to.

With only 3.5 hours left of the show I just think this was a way for them to say "Hey here is some answers to Jacob and MIB, now lets focus on sideways world and island." Which sucks, but I think this is all were going to get when it comes to them.

Maggers why do you think there will be two smokes? Do you think Jacob can be a smokey as well? Just curious. I do think Jacob has some sort of powers besides granting immortality and being all knowing. Maybe him and fake mom had similar power and its how she destroyed the well and the village and didn't have to call smokey but did it in her own way.

DaveStrorm Wrote:That doesn't really jive up with what Flocke has been spouting about (that he used to be a man, his mom went crazy, etc.). But maybe he's just trying to make people believe he actually was a man at one point.

I hope they clarify this before it's over. Or that one of our resident Lost experts here can give a convincing explanation for me. Big Grin

I had no problem with the smoke monster erupting from the river tunnel after MIB was thrown in. Except, was MIB dead at the time? Didn't Jacob say to him that he was not going to kill him and then threw him in the river, where, perhaps, MIB banged his head and drowned. I have to watch that again.

But yes, I believe that the smoke monster needs a body OR PART THEREOF (I think that may be important in the episodes to come) to manifest itself in human form.

I watched the episode last night recalling MIB/Locke's words to Kate about his crazy mother and how he was still attempting to cope with the issues their relationship created for him. I bought it. I've got more compassion for MIB now than I had previously, and I'm clear that both brothers are equally flawed. And each has his own agenda.

I've always wondered, if Jacob was supposedly so darn good, how could he support the Dharma purge. That was a pretty darn evil thing to do, wipe out so many innocents for what, the good of the Island? Now I can see where Jacob easily could give the word to kill.

I got the idea of 2 smokeys from the coming attraction that I saw on abc.com. I didn't want to spell it out 'cause some folks may not want to know it now and will want to wait until the show airs. I could PM you my idea, if you want.

I suspect the potion that fake mother gave Jacob may have some sort of magic. But who knows? She poured it out of a bottle that looked the same as the one Jacob gave MIB the other week.

If you would like to PM me I am quite curious. I will have to check that coming attraction out myself as well.

I thought the same thing about the bottle, Also thought it was interesting how it again showed smokey breaking it in the clip for next episode. Which made me think more to that episode, was maybe Jacob trying to get MIB to drink from it and maybe share what their mother shared with him? Doubtful but thought it was interesting.

Yeah it seemed to be some sort of ritual to transfer to Jacob the title of island protector. She gave him that drink out of the bottle and she did some chant and then said something like "we are now the same."

Which makes me wonder how closely that ritual has to be followed to become the protector and how that will happen to initiate the next protector.
