The van that Ben used to cart around Locke's body......an anagram for reincarnation. Talk about an ah-ha moment!

LOST Season 5 *Spoiler Edition* - cobalt - 04-11-2009

I just spent some time...lol...on the concept of the island moving. It's bothered me that an island could "move" and just cause a relatively small ripple in the ocean. What happens when there's a big sea quake that opens a fissure deep in the ocean floor? Water rushes in...displacement then. Move something as big as the island...and get something as small as that ripple? That doesn't fit with the physics. Now mind you...I'm certainly not an expert in physics. While on the second site posted by FPW....I started looking at the screen shots and the discussions...enough to make my head spin. But one of the theories makes sense...in a way. The island is floating...not fixed to the earth. (The other theory is that the island sinks when "moved".) If this is so....the island would be free to travel in time and space and not cause the matter issue to occur. They called it coincident matter. As I understand it...a person could travel in time...from one point to another...forward and back....space to space. The person has matter and does not effect upon the earth. But move the island through time and space...it will cause a spacial shift that has effect upon the earth as the mass shift is great. It makes for the theory that the island floats.

Ok...after that...I have a headache.

Ok...yes I'm obsessing...I'll admit it. I can't get past the displacement issue. Yes it's a TV show...but some of the physics are fact based....and some is speculation... yes...yes....shut up guys (in the room) ...I'm on a roll here.
The island floating doesn't fit now. Neither did the idea of it sinking. I think the island being volcanic is the clue. Some time in the past....the island wasn't there. It formed as part of volcanic action....as did the other island. But the island is special. It tapped into the magnetism of the earth....because it is believed the earth's core is molten iron. The magnetism has something to do with how the island moves...like "fixed" points on a grid. Because the island "was" in one point in time and space in other times...it can be made to re-visit those points as if drawn to them by homing in on those points on the grid. At least...that's what I think.....but I still can't work the displacement mechanics...that bothers me.
Unless each time the island moves...it's a different reality?
I'm going back to my wine....and ponder some more.

How many giant statues are there?

When flashing back and forth in time, Sawyer & co saw the back end of one which a lot of people assumed was the complete statue that left a four-toed stump in the present day timeline.

The drawing on the front of the smoke monster's Whack-a-Mole game also showed the smoke monster facing of one giant statue, which looked like an Egyptian god (might explain the four-toed foot/paw) but then in Locke's current timeline didnt what's-her-name saw something about a statue?

They can't somehow have crashed in pre-history, becasue they have Dharma stations there. So did the original Lost guys somehow miss another giant statue the entire time they were on the Island?

You were making some sense for a little while Bones, then you lost it.

That was the big question after last weeks episode her question "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" Could be they saw something in the time between ben and locke leaving and pilot(can't remember his name at the moment) arriving back on the second island. Or a lot of speculation is a couple of them were on that plane for a reason and maybe Mrs. Hawking hinted someone else to the "window". That was a big case of guns they found.

Like the smoke monster? Maybe there's a reason it took so long to get to Ben. Maybe it has another Whack-a-Mole set underneath a giant egyptian statue...?

Whack-a-mole? That game in an arcade where a kid hits the pop up hippo with a mallet. If that's what you mean. How does that have anything to do with Cerberus/ the smoke monster?

Maggers Wrote:Do you suppose the baby of "Dr. Kandel" (the scientist has gone by a variety of names throughout the series) could be Miles? It's the right ethnic mix and possibly the right age. Just a thought.

Ha! I guessed it! Love this show, love the backstory of Miles.
