I just read on Yahoo that ABC has announced Lost will run for 48 more episodes over 3 seasons (16 uninterrupted each season). The last season will be 2009-2010. This will make the total episode count 120.

To prevent the fiasco of this years 4 month lull between the first half of the season and the second they are going to run the season uninterrupted like "24" starting in 2008. It seems like a lot of shows are starting to do this, including "Battlestar Galactica".

The thing I find most interesting about the the "Lost" announcement though is that the remaining 3 season will only be 16 episodes. This is probably a good thing to reduce the amount of filler episodes.

I looked at this as a kind of compromise between the writers/creators and the network. I read somewhere that the writers/creators wanted to wrap everything up in another two seasons. It would appear that this wouldn't generate enough money and advertising for the network and so they came to a compromise: same amount of episodes but spread out over an extra season, hence less episodes per season.

(Meanwhile, back in the episode...)
When Locke and Ben are standing at the 'alter' (for want of a better word) and Ben is trying to get Locke to kill his Dad, the camera picks out a few members of the crowd. I really recognise one of the first to be shown. It's a woman and she's standing alone. The only person I can think of that it may be is the lady from Locke's anger management classes, the one he eventually proposed to.
Am I way off here? I know I recognise her from somewhere. Anyone else have any ideas?

I'll check my tape of that episode tonight to confirm, but I thought it was the stewardess who had originally been with the ill-fated 2nd group of survivors, the Tailies. The stewardess was taken by the Others as the Tailies made their way (with Sawyer, Jin and Michael as prisoners) to the beach camp of the original group of survivors, Jack/Kate/Hurley, et al.

It did show the stewardess as well (with the kids, I think) but this was someone else. The camera seemed to linger on her, almost as if to say it's someone we should know.

I didn't recognize anybody but maybe it was someone. They do that a lot. It sucks that after this season there's only going to be 48 more episodes. The writers did this so they could know how to lead up to the finale and they said the last epi of the this season is going to throw us way off in the last 5 min and set us up for the "design" for the last three seasons. It's in the newspaper. They also had a list of "coincidences" between Lost and Heroes. Now I really can't wait for the last epi of this season.

I went through that scene 3 times and the only recognizable people were the stewardess and the good looking guy with the close cropped dark hair who works for Dharma (the one who got Juliet to come to the Island). There was a mid-shot of a woman, but it was not Locke's former fiancee, not anyone we've seen before.

I'm sure I recognised her from somewhere. If it's not Locke's anger management lady then I'm sure it's someone else.
Of course, there's always the chance I've seen her in a different TV show!
