Who's Your Cast? - Dave F - 05-09-2009

Wapitikev Wrote:Still no better Rasalom suggestions (for an evil looking 35 year old guy) than Zach Quinto (Syler from Heroes) or Julian McMahon (from Nip Tuck) who is quite old, at 41, to pass for 35. Josh brolin was also mentioned but he is the same age as McMahon and looks like he has a couple 100,000 more miles of hard road under his belt.

So thrill us with a new suggestion Srem.

Zach Quinto I could go for, but Julian McMahon was soooooo bad as Dr Doom his credibility as an evil genius is shot for me

BTW Rasalom isn't actually in the Tomb, unless he is getting a cameo to tie in other books (I'm outa touch with the rumours / info re the film)

I always thought Michael Wincott could carry off a good bad guy but he is 51 now - so too old

Yes, Rasalom doesn't appear until movie 3, unless they skip Legacies or cameo him in movie one. Past discussion was around actors who would do a good job and be relatively the same age (only 9 months older) than Ryan Reynolds/Desmond Harrington.

Forgive me for my ignorance; I didn't realize that the movie would be based off of the Tomb. Although, if there were going to be future sequels, I wouldn't have a problem seeing Sylar play Rasalom.

Btw, Wapitikev, good choice for Jack (Cuyle Carvin), although I think his blue eyes are too striking to be like Jack's. Aren't Jack's eyes brown?

You know, I wish I knew what image of Repairman Jack
Mr. Wilson has had in his mind all these years while
writing about him...

I don't know about "writing about him," but on the old board, he mentioned that -- if the movie was made 12-14 years ago -- Viggo Mortensen one of his first choices to play Jack.

And when he was writing the character of Abe, he was seeing Jack Weston.

Thanks for the insight, Ken! Viggo is one bad dude...

Contact lenses are amazing things. The thing that stuck me about Cuyle is that he looks like a cross between Viggo and Bruce Campbell.

Viggo would have been righteous as Jack, back in the day!

Jack Weston, now that's interesting. In a very good way.

Ken, it's a shame that you and other board members with this kind of invaluable history do not participate in the movie threads more often...they probably seem like endless re-hashes for you.

Grateful for the history lesson.

No problem. The good news is that, despite the terrible versions of the script, over the years, FPW himself, in early 2007, said "I read the script...and I LOVE it. It’s the Jack we know and (I assume) love, folks." regarding the current Chris Morgan (of Fast and Furious and Wanted fame) revision.

Plus (and I'm personally dying to see it), the opening scene is something no-one has read before and contains: "A new really fun, vicious intro for Jack that will also serve to introduce the idea of Gia earlier into the script...and will also pay-off in an amusing scene later in the story."

The waiting is like root canal!

This movie needs to happen.

I finally broke down and bought Let It Ride...so here's Robbie Coltrane's audition for Abe. You'll have to imagine him 20 years older.
