Star Wars: Episode VII - The Television Show - nijimeijer - 01-09-2005 One thing I've learned from the new Star Wars movies and from playing SW: Knights of the Old Republic (and excellent, excellent Xbox game) is that the Jedi have suck and apparently have been sucking for quite some time. They never quite rise to the level of "cool" that I thought they would or should from watching the first trilogy. Shame. They could've been awesome, but instead they're just kind of . . . meh. Childhood dreams shattered! And they are the only ones I have ever read.I did not know that. I read some of the reviews (not overwhelming) and the general consensus seems to be that they may be good books but that they are not good Star Wars books. Of course they were written very early on before much of the Expanded Universe was created. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Television Show - dejo - 01-09-2005 Well, I've read a number of Star Wars books, and though most were "okay" the only ones I found completely engrossing were the Timothy Zahn trilogy ("Heir To The Empire", "Dark Force Rising", and "The Last Command"). Grand Admiral Thrawn seemed an cool addition to the EU. I liked them so much I picked up Zahn's Conquerors' trilogy and quite enjoyed that too ( although they had nothing to do with Star Wars). |
