Probably not much different from what Bush has done -- and has promised to do. The so-called PATRIOT Act is a downright treasonous assault on the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth, and Tenth Amendments to the Constitution. The McCain-Feingold Incumbency Protection Act -- in the name of campaign reform -- is also an egregious assault on the First Ammendment. Bush has promised to sign the renewal of the Assault Weapon-Magazine Limitation Ban, if/when it comes across his desk. A blatant violation of the Second amendment! In thirty nine months as president, Bush has not vetoed a single bill! The last president to do that was James Garfield in 1881! And he at least had an excuse! He was shot four months after he was inaugurated, and died two months later. Even that FDR New Deal Democrat Ronald Reagan vetoed about ten bills a year! I wouldn't vote for Bush if you put a gun to my head. Mind you, I'd put a gun to my own head before I'd vote for Kerry -- or any other Democrap for that matter. I would not be the slightest bit surprised -- if it looks like the election would go badly for Bush -- to see another "terrorist" attack on the U.S.. It limits contributions in such a way as to be disastrous to third parties, extremely difficult for challengers of incumbents, and forbids political criticism right before an election. (that's the first amendment part.) Quote:Are you saying similar to what happened in Spain or orchestrated by the "powers that be"? Either way. I wouldn't be surprised if they either MAKE it happen, or LET it happen. Ken - my cynicism is showing - V. |
