You're certainly getting stuck into this project. I envisioned a heavily muscled upper arm and shoulder, along the lines of a weight lifter. I also agree with the previous comments about the neck and trapezoid muscles.

You're pic is looking pretty good so far! Personally I would bulk it up even more. (It looks a little on the skinny side to me) Also the length of the arm from the shoulder to the elbow vs. from the elbow to the wrist looks a bit disproportionate. One last thing.. the hands. Make the thumb a little less opposable and shorten the talons on the hands. I've always pictured them like an eagles talons. (It would make it way easier to climb walls and not break a nail.Wink)

As far as the neck, I believed they were described as not really having one. (Picture the way a gorillas head sets down on it's shoulders)

Once you get the neck down, that's when it gets tough. Trying to put a sharks head on an hominid like body is not easy. I went with the Mako sharks snout because it is longer and sharper than most sharks. (I found that if I went with the shorter more rounded snout of the Tiger or Great White it turned out looking like a ninja turtleBig Grin)

All in all this is your project, so make it like you envision it. I'll be looking forward to the final result!Cool

Great advice. Thanks a million

Same here. A heavily muscled upper torso and powerful limbs. The whole creature should be well muscled if I remember the description right. The head and lack of a neck are going to give you trouble. Get the head right and just blend it into the torso, something that resembles a big lizard or a shark.

Rokosh find Steroids! Rokosh go rawr!

Now I'm getting kinda finicky with trying to keep proportions making sense and while also making it quite fearsome and monstrous. let me know what you think. What about the head too?

Edit: I'm still modeling on a low-poly mesh and using nurms. More detailed bunches of muscles and such will be added once I'm done with the low-res mesh and apply nurms. Basically I only have small control over detail so I can shape the basic proportions easier and I'll open up the ability to add detail once they are good.

I think you can work with that head. Until you put some eyes and some teeth on it, it's kinda hard to get the overall effect, but it's not bad for the outline. But since you've bulked up the upper body the legs are looking really scrawny.

Can I ask what those spikes are at the shoulder? If you could blend those into it's head that would give a short strong neck.

Build up his legs and lower body some, fold those points on his shoulders down for more muscles to form a thicker neck.....and now you're talking.

I have a slight anatomical problem with the legs. They if I bulk them up too much more, they will go through each other. I'll try to work around it. I have no idea what the spikes are, I just thought they looked cool. I'll try to get them connected with the neck. Teeth have to come near the end of the project. I can start experimenting with eyes. I always pictured them as glowing yellow orbs-no whites. What do you guys think?

Paul described 'em, I betcha, but I don't recall offhand. I imagine them like cats' eyes.

The eyes. You're project is far enough away that you don't need much detail. Yellow is fine. (no need to see the whites of his eyes) If it was a close up, eyes will sell it if they're done right. I think with the Rakosh, I want to see a human eye, one with the white but extremely bloodshot. Also, I think it's pupil would look more reptilian though.

Ok, my efforts for the night. I took a few hours break to play some golf with friends and I was wayyyyyy too hyper. I need to slow down a bit. I still don't have it in my heart to remove the back spikes. They'll be my little artistic liberty. But the front ones were messing with the neck. How do you guys like what I did with it? Oh yeah, and some quick placement eyes for the time being. I always pictured rokoshi with a bit disproportunate legs. hmmmmmmm, any other major proportion changes or do you think I should get into detailing?
