Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 10-30-2006 webby Wrote:Major HARBINGERS spoilers!! I had a little case of brain-lock there, Webby--Britfan explained all, as did you. Thanks to both of yez. As far as that YOU STOP... phrase goes, it's from ROCKY. The boxing match at the end of the flick. Balboa wants to go the distance, that's all. He has no illusions about beating the champion Apollo Creed. Just go the distance, so he knows he's "not just another bum from the neighborhood." Late round, Rocky's on his stool in his corner, resting between rounds, waiting for the bout to continue. And he's beat-up fairly bad. His trainer Mickey says, "Kid, you gave your best. Everybody's proud. But I'm gonna stop it now." And Rocky replies, "You stop this fight, I'll kill you." (That looks pretty dry in print--you really have to see it.) The phrase just flew off my fingers after typing SPOILER 5 times. A good ROCKY discussion, from a phenomenological existentialist viewpoint, I'm always good for! Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - Manda_W - 10-30-2006 So Jack is like the Ally's Semmerling? Scott, good one, that cracked me up!! Damn, I have only read Harbringers once (and in 1 day) and I usually miss the little things in the first reading, it takes the second to get the details. But, heir now makes more sense! Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - webby - 10-30-2006 Scott Miller Wrote:So Jack is like the Ally's Semmerling? Totally. Have you read HARBINGERS? Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - Sourdoughs - 10-31-2006 webby Wrote:Major HARBINGERS spoilers!! A thought came to mind when I read this. Is there an heir to Rasalom, then? Why not? If so, have we come across him/her yet? Along these same lines, would it be fun to get stories from the Rasalom viewpoint, or would that be too dark and gruesome. I think it'd be too dark. -MarcC Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - Manda_W - 10-31-2006 Sourdoughs Wrote:A thought came to mind when I read this. Is there an heir to Rasalom, then? Why not? It would be way cool to find out more about Rasalom and an "heir". Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - cobalt - 10-31-2006 Sourdoughs Wrote:A thought came to mind when I read this. Nightworld Questions/Comments (spoilers) - BrettM - 11-01-2006 Sourdoughs Wrote:Is there an heir to Rasalom, then?Well, in Conspiracies Rasalom was concerned that he might not be The One. The fact that there could be other candidates suggests that there might be an heir. But, given the nature of evil, I would expect Rasalom to destroy any wannabe competitors he finds (as he does in Gateways), and anyone who thought they might be an heir would certainly be working to knock off the top dog and take his place.
