Howdy-doo, Willowz. Stick with us and you'll find chills, spills, pathos, bathos, hard words, horselaffs, and even a haiku or two! My parole officer very much approves of my spending time with the gang. When is the next RJ book coming out? - willowz - 11-16-2005 Kenji Wrote:You didn't read Gateways yet? Oh.......that's too bad. I have the same matters in Tokyo. Foreign book stores in Tokyo, I can't find out FPW's English paperbacks and hardbacks. Even "The Keep"! Why? Why? Why....? Even Sidney Sheldon's paperbacks are available in Japan! Gateways at Amazon.com When is the next RJ book coming out? - Charleswg - 11-17-2005 Well, anyone on a tight budget, you could try the old public library. I know we'd all like to support book sales for FPW but the library is an excellent institution that is often forgotten. Think about it- it's where as kids we first really started to explore the world of books. I'm a library fanatic and my copy of Infernal is available for pick up so guess where I'm a headin' after school. I frequently tell people that libraries are about the only evidence that our government is doing anything on our behalf. I do always buy the paperbacks when they come out and any used copies I encounter generally end in my possession as loaners or giveaways. [QUOTE] That is about it. I "use" the library for all it's worth. I buy every book that I read, but many times I check the book out from the library so I don't have to read the book in my collection. I also wear out the library's video section. Our library has about 40 local branches that are all connected on the website. I can reserve anything from any of the branches, have them shipped to my nearest branch, and get email notification when the item is available for pickup. Believe me I have them trucks running overtime!! I love it!! They've never said "no can do". Last time, they told me not to worry, they will automatically buy every FPW book that comes out. Their copies of Crisscross and Infernal are almost never in, so FPW must have a lot of local fans. The others are very well worn. When is the next RJ book coming out? - Maggers - 11-18-2005 I loved the libraries on Long Island which I used growing up at our summer house. I especially loved the library in Riverhead; I can remember when it was built long ago and far away. But here in Manhattan, the libraries leave much to be desired. I never use them. There seems to be no books that I care to rent. The nearest one is undergoing a renovation; maybe when it's finished, I'll check it out. The libararies in my neighboorhod are so tiny, though. |
