Scott Miller Wrote:I generally avoid commercial TV, but circumstances find me with a surplus of evening time so I thought I would try on a couple this fall. Last night I watched My Name is Earl and think it has potential. Jason Lee has a charisma about him that I find engaging. The humor is quite crude with enough laughs for me to tune in next week.

I enjoyed "Earl" but thought it lacked something, though it does have heart. I also like Jason Lee alot and have always thought he was underrated. (Give him red hair and beard and he looks like my ex-husband, for whom I will always have a soft spot in my heart.)

Quote:Maybe I'm not 'in', but I couldn't stand the fifteen minutes of The Office that followed Earl.
The American version of "The Office" is AWFUL and unwatchable, as far as I'm concerned. P.U. It stinks.

Quote:I think Stacy Z. mentioned Invasion, which I will be taping this evening on my ancient VCR so I can zip through the commercials when I get around to watching it.
Haven't seen this one yet; I will check it out. I like my ancient VCR. Gets the job done.

I watched My Name Is Earl last night, mainly because I am a Jason Lee fan. I thought it was pretty good, but it seemed like a one-hour show crammed into half-hour. It seemed cramped.

Well put. I do hope the show can find its rhythm because the idea behind it has merit.

Babe,

I enjoyed Earl too. It had some great lines. The Office was horrid. I couldn't believe what a car wreck it was.

Surface was boriiiiiiiiing. No excitement, no scares and no suspense. So for me, no sale.

Taped Nip/Tuck and Supernatural. And I'm dying to see the season premiere of Lost!

At work today I received official correspondence from an arm of Scientology that looks into what they perceive as malfeasance on the part of psychiatrists. They were totally wrong and were using misinformation to support their statements. I can't say more than that in this forum.

But the most upsetting thing was to look at the list of people on the masthead of this organization. JASON LEE WAS ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!

The thing that kills me about Scientology is that L. Ron Hubbard, the guy who founded Scientology, admitted it was a sham.

I finally got to finish watching Threshold. On the whole I really enjoyed it. Decent writing and acting, although a bit cliched, I didn't lose interest in it. I'll definitely be giving it a few more episodes to see what they do.

Now onto Invasion.

New Television - Lisa - 09-22-2005

I thought INVASION was great! I was really happy with last night's premiere. That little girl is so adorable and a wonderful actor for her age. And I can definitely get into that ex-wife as an evil entity-alien-thing. Wink

Lisa, when is "Invasion" on? Channel?

It was on after LOST. So, assuming it stays in its time slot, Wednesdays on ABC at 9/8c.
