Lawrence Of Arabia is nice score. And......you forgot "Ghost". That was beautiful score by Maurice Jarre, too. If I remember right, he won Academy Awards for his scores for Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia and Grand Prix. I've never heard of GHOST. Ken V. I've never heard of Moulin Rouge. When did it come out? Ken V. He couldn't win Academy Award for Ghost, but music was very good. Listen to this music. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/recs/radio/krex/-/track/B0000015KG001006/ref=pd_krex_dp_t/002-3105705-4167254# Favorite Movie Soundtracks - indiegent - 11-23-2004 Anyone here ever seen "Run Lola Run?" Now there's a soundtrack! How about "Blade Runner?" There was a television series worth mentioning as well, Carl Sagan's "Cosmos," Which had amazing music, including Vangelis. Oh, we must not forget "The Blues Brothers" or "Legend." Favorite Movie Soundtracks - Kenji - 11-23-2004 indiegent Wrote:Anyone here ever seen "Run Lola Run?" Now there's a soundtrack! I saw Run Lola Run, but I didn't care much about soundtrack. Blade Runner's music is nice. And, yes, The Blues Brothers is good. Still, I have their albums. About Legend........Your mentioning is Jerry Goldsmith? or Tangelin Dream? Favorite Movie Soundtracks - Kenji - 11-23-2004 Ken Valentine Wrote:I've never heard of Moulin Rouge. When did it come out? The movie released in 2001. This is typical classical romance movie, like a "Romeo and Juliet". But music and songs are modern. Listen to this song. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/recs/radio/krex/-/track/B00005BJ2O001011/ref=pd_krex_dp_t/002-3105705-4167254# Favorite Movie Soundtracks - Dave - 11-23-2004 Ken Valentine Wrote:I've never heard of Moulin Rouge. When did it come out? Just as Kenji said, the film is set at the turn of the last century (1899-1900) in Paris, stars Ewan McGreggor and Nicole Kidman, and is a terrific love story. The direction is very quick paced, fast editing, weird. But after the initial shock of the first twenty minutes you find the groove and a gorgeous film emerges where modern songs are adapted in a musical stage show fashion. And on repeat viewings the first twenty minutes are just great, the confusion on first watching is because you need to get your head around the directing technique. I'd recommend renting it. Dave |
