Dear Kenji: FPW has written short stories with Repairman Jack (If I remember
correctly). Maybe they were in one of those short stories. I would not know
for sure because, though I have read many of his novels I have not read any
of his short stories. If there is an anthology of FPW short stories out there
you may want to look into it. My own curiosity is piqued and I plan to look
into it when I am not overly busy.

I've missed a number of short stories too, but I strongly suspect that the Koslowski brothers in Hosts is just a background story for that particular novel. If nothing else, it reminds us of Jacks reason for maintaining a low profile.

Exactly!

As I see it, enough of the situation was told in Hosts that even a short story about them would be anti-climactic. It added mystery and excitement to Hosts, and filled in a little more of Jacks background.
