Well, yes, but we're fans of the book, and it's hard for us to wrap our brains around something else. Stubborn, we are! Arrr! What about Dominic West? He doesn't really look the part. But I love him in The Wire. Stubborn, we are! Arrr! Well, we better not be too stubborn or we are not going to get enough enjoyment out of the movie, if and when it's ever made and released. For sure, there are going to be some things changed that not everyone agrees with. That's inherent in the nature of converting a well-written novel into a screenplay, choices by the director, etc. I hope they don't make major changes that cause us fans sleepless nights but if the change of location and backstory are okay with The Man, then we need to learn to be okay with it as well. So, don't get too hung up on his specific age. Also, Paul could have realized his mistake of leaking the age and immediately replied that he was actually unsure to throw us off. I just ran across that actor and noticed he seemed somewhat fitting. Pretty average looking guy. Paul said he was a big name but I've never heard of this guy. Then again, I haven't watched the shows he is on. Oh well, we'll never know until Paul is given the ok. Which young, big-name star wants to be Repairman Jack? - John Carter - 02-15-2005 This may be selfish, but I'd rather not see Jack go to film. I like the Jack I have in my mind, and not one movie has ever held up to my imagination. To Kill a Mockingbird was the closest. I'm not sure if he might be too old, but Chris Knight he was the middle kid on the brady bunch. I saw him on the Surreal World on VH1 and he fits the "Blend in" factor. |
