Sir, I think they will get to Iraq without trouble. The relief effort I was tasked to was actually controlled by a civillian arm of the government - so totally different areas. (I hope!) That is great that you took the time to send those guys the books. I have spent a large part of my career in that area (ie Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Oman, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Kingdom of Bahrain) and not only is it dangerous, but many time monotonous in the extreme. I am sure they will devour those books!
