Indeed.

If you like lots of explosions without a plot, this one's for you. District 9 had a plot, Transformers had a plot, hokey as it was.
It would have been better IMO, if the story was told from a military perspective.
Finally saw this using one of my free Dish signup PPV Certs. Glad I didn't spend real money on it. Hokey was a great description for the very end. Good effects though. But I didn't expect any great film anyway.

My favorite part was when I was seeing this in the theater for the first time, when the mexican security guard was about to take out that alien with the lighter I thought of the cheesiest possible line for the moment, turned to my friend and said, "Vaya con Dios, motherfucker." Then the security guard said, "Vaya con Dios, you son of a bitch."

Some really cool special effects....and the plot perspective for the most part......sucked.
Big screen appeal for sure.......but all in all...meh.

Today I saw "Skyline" in a theatre. It was good! Special effect was superb. About actors were...no comment. :p

Like Medusa said, it looked like Independence Day meets District 9, and I add Cloverfield to them. Well, first sequences were almost Cloverfield.
