regarding the rj film - Lisa - 06-05-2011 Well, you have to keep in mind that this "who should play Jack" has been an ongoing thing for years. Some of the actors that were considered (officially or not) in the past are wildly inappropriate for the part now. regarding the rj film - Tony H - 06-05-2011 Lisa Wrote:Well, you have to keep in mind that this "who should play Jack" has been an ongoing thing for years. I heard Seth Rogen is considering the part. regarding the rj film - wdg3rd - 06-05-2011 AsMoral Wrote:I heard Seth Rogen is considering the part.Tony, you're a pervert. Which has nothing to do with those sexual proclivities you conceal so well. regarding the rj film - Peter - 06-13-2011 I STILL say that Kevin Bacon (a few years back, say five years after Tremors) would have been the perfect actor for Jack. Now? I don't really know but, as Blues has said, I will be (pleasantly) suprised if it happens. Sorry if that puts a downer on it but to me that's how it looks. The film industry at present seems to be reluctant to put money into much other than remakes or new epsiodes of an already proven money spinning franchise. regarding the rj film - Annice Burdeos - 06-13-2011 Chris has a pretty decent track record in the industry and his films perform well at the box office! Which can never be underestimated when considering the financial outlook for any film. And yes it is true that Jack be perceived to be more a Jason Bourne type than a Bond figure. Those of us who have read Jack realize he is neither but in Hollywood original stories must fit into predetermined demographics. Damon finished the Bourne films he was contracted in doing and now like Lara Croft the character is being rebooted or reimagined with others in the lead roles. Franchise characters are driving Hollywood and the possibility must be considered for expansion into other entertainment areas. regarding the rj film - The Mad American - 06-13-2011 AsMoral Wrote:I heard Seth Rogen is considering the part. I don't know how I missed this when it was first posted but I have to say, you are just wrong man. Wrong!!! Here is your virtual punch in the throat. regarding the rj film - Ken Valentine - 06-14-2011 t4terrific Wrote:Supposedly that's why Matt Damon turned it down. He had just done an action flick, Bourne Identity, and RJ was too similar. Then he went on to make 2 more Bourne films. Go figure. :out:I enjoyed the novel The Bourne Identity, and when I saw the Matt Damon version, I thought it stunk. If you liked the novel see the original 1988 mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain. I donno, Ken...it wasn't CITY LIGHTS (which I think is the greatest flick ever made--of the ones I've seen, anyway), but it was entertaining. There have been plenty worse (that I've paid good money to see!:crazy regarding the rj film - Ken Valentine - 06-14-2011 Bluesman Mike Lindner Wrote:<snip irrelevancy> There have been plenty worse (that I've paid good money to see!:crazyI take it then that you haven't read the novel or seen the mini-series. The Matt Damon version was related to the Robert Ludlum novel even less than the Michael Mann movie was to FPW's THE KEEP. If they're going to make up a story out of nearly whole cloth, why not make up a new title as well. Ken V. |
