Maybe PFW is a way to rewrite Nightworld in an alternate universe setting. So after the last RJ book there will be this mysterious book called... Darkland. But events will unfold differently than those in Nightworld because it will be written by PFW not FPW. Thereby giving fans an alternate and surprising ending to the series.
