Repairman Jack Series - Dave F - 07-31-2007

APhew Wrote:I'm still holding out hope that we'll get a fantasy series that is set during the First Age. There are so many things hinted at in the AC and RJ saga that could be explained in these books. The Compendium of Srem, the Lilitongue of Gefreda, the first time that R just about vanquished the world... the list goes on (i'm going from memory on those artifacts, so forgive me if I got them wrong). I see a lot of potential for a trilogy of books that chronicles Glaeken and Rasalom's early years. Plus Fantasy is one genre that Paul has left virtually untapped (except for Demonsong).

You are not alone in this. I would love to see this, as you say the RJ novels are building up a fantastic mythos around the first age.

I'm sur eI read that the reason that Demonsong isn't in any of the "others" compilations is that Paul was considering expanding it

I for one would be queueing up for the lettered limited if this ever came to fruition

Alternatively FPW could edit a short story anthology, getting fantasy authors to develop the first age based on what we already know from AC & RJ

Cheers

Same here. When I finished the Adversary Cycle and got stuck into RJ, I was really impressed that Legacies was more of a thriller than a sci-fi/fantasy. I thought the series was gonna be a mix of crime stories as well as horror stories.
