Newbie - Silverfish - 05-15-2007 I'm Canadian! (Waves hand in air.) I first met Jack in Legacies, and have been hooked ever since (with a brief stint away).
Welcome aboard. Stephanie Newbie - cobalt - 05-15-2007 Welcome Chris. My first FPW work was the Keep. I saw the movie and sought out the book. The rest is history, but a very pleasant one. Newbie - webby - 05-16-2007 Welcome, Chris - that was a great story. My first FPW book was The Tomb, which I bought for $1 in a "Dollar General" store. That one dollar purchase has ended up costing me a lot more since then... but every penny has been more than well spent. I thought it might be fun to introduce myself by telling you how I became an avid reader of (most of) FPW's work. This will end up being a fairly long first thread, and I promise that I won't be so wordy again. Welcome to the board, Chris! It wasn't too long. My first FPW novel was The Tomb. Newbie - cdove - 05-16-2007 Thanks to everyone! I'm sure that this will be fun. A big wave to everyone from Canada - and everywhere else Newbie - bones weep tedium - 05-16-2007 I first got interested in FPW after I saw The Keep movie. I really like that film, and was impressed by the book. I enjoyed the Adversary cycle, and then read the RJ books. I think that The Keep and The Tomb are the best in the Adversary cycle, and that Nightworld did a good job of finishing it off. I am less interested in the later RJ books than I am in the earlier ones. Nice story Chris, by the way! Newbie - phoenix rising - 05-19-2007 My first FPW book was The Keep, after seeing the movie. (Book being the better of the 2 of course) The movie couldn't capture the characters as well. (But that is a whole other whole bag of worms) I also was recently activated here, thanks a ton Lisa!!!! I've been an avid reader since.......well 1992 notgonna tell you how old I was then, but I was pretty young....... Always good to feel wanted Newbie - Auskar - 05-20-2007 I saw the movie, The Thief, and had watched some of Miami Vice, so I went to see the movie, The Keep, because of Michael Mann --- and understood nothing of what was going on, especially as it approached the ending. So I bought the book. I think I still didn't really understand what was going on, but you would see F. Paul Wilson books on the stand from time to time. I didn't buy them because I'm not a horror fan. Then, a number of years ago some friends and I were talking online about "other Jacks" besides Jack Crow. Jack Reacher, Repairman Jack, etc., and that's how I heard about Repairman Jack. I read one, then the rest. |
