you and me both, brother. but i guess it kinda fit though, you know? their whole loveable loser thing wouldn't have worked if they had ever gotten big.

and 'Nowhere Is My Home' and 'Temptation Eyes' are two of my favorite 'Mats songs. gotta love 'Boink!'.

Scott Miller Wrote:The soundtrack was a pleasant surprise as it was written and performed by Paul Westerberg of Replacements near-fame.
I just checked out a Paul Westerberg CD from the library today. I have no idea if I'll like it but after reading this thread and then it popping out at me, I figured it was a sign.

While there are some really good songs, "World Class Fad" and "Knockin' On Mine", come to mind, it is not his strongest effort. I much prefer his work in The Replacements over his solo material. Suicaine Gratification is my favorite away from the band, although I haven't heard the last couple he's released.

HaroldDemure Wrote:i have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop ever since it came out. Paul Westerberg is my favorite musician of all time and it ranks with his best solo work. definitely a must-hear. i was told that Paul, Tommy Stinson, and session drummer extrordinaire Josh Freese played a mini-set at the premiere of the film. they played 'Love You In The Fall', 'Right To Arm Bears', and the 'Mats barn burner 'I.O.U.'. i would give my right arm for video or audio of this.
i really want to see the movie but i'll probably just wait for the DVD.

My daughter got me the soundtrack as a gift; definitely some of his best post-Mats stuff. Sounds like he's come to terms with his past. I still feel like Paul is going to make at least one more great CD and I think this was a step in that direction.

i'm still totally hung up on this album. the remake of 'Good Day' breaks my heart everytime i hear it. and me and my girlfriend are always dancing around and acting silly whenever 'Right To Arm Bears' comes on.
such a good record. still haven't seen the film, though.
