Why would there be kevlar lined pillows? I thought they were just blankets for the picnic. But I wouldn't know kevlar if [insert witty comment here]. Poor Hurley! Sad

Good one! Wink

Not sure if I am remembering all this correctly . . . "Tom" (sorry can't remember his real name if it was ever said - Jack's father) was supposed to be on the plane in the coffin. Jack found the coffin but was it empty? I remember him seeing his father in the jungle and chasing after him.

I'm surprised nobody has posted anything about the fake commercial for The Hanso Organization. 1-877-HANSORG. Building a better tomorrow or whatever the tagline was. As soon as I saw it, I started dialing the number. Didn't get anything though.

Wow!! I had totally forgotten that was Jack's dad. It just didn't click with me.

This was mentioned on another forum and I don't ever remember seeing this commercial. Where was it?

I didn't see it either.

Another thing .... Who is Jack's dad's daughter that he was trying to see? Isn't Claire from Australia?

That's funny. I saw the commercial and thought, "Wait! Isn't that....? Nah."

I'm new to this and have missed much. Here's my sense of Ana Lucia's backstory appearing as it did. Her tender hello/goodbye to her mother amounted to her asking for forgiveness, though not expressly stated. It was a confessional sort of backstory and a way of giving her as godly a send off as possible, given who she is.

I think Jack's father's real name is Christian.

The coffin that was supposedly Jack's father's coffin was empty. The "ghost" of Jack's father, with the ice in his glass clinking merrily all the way, lead Jack to the source of fresh water in the caves. The coffin was in the caves and Jack smashed it to bits when he saw it was empty.

In the back story last night, Tom/Christian/Jack's father was heading into the bar in which he met Sawyer, where he supposedly ended the binge that he'd been on for days and which resulted in his death. Jack identified his dad's body in Sydney in the morgue. That was early on in the flash backs.

Somehow the idea that Michael was brainwashed seems to easy for this show. I'm inclined to think that Michael knew very well what he was doing. I have to admit that was the best episode I've seen in a long time...
