Dexter - colburn0004 - 10-27-2009 This was a very good episode. The ending scene was one of the first to truly surprise me. I did not see it coming at all.(though I should have given the theme of this season.) But it was very surprising and will be nice to see where Dexter goes from here. What happend to a main star dying by halfway through the season? Lundy wasn't in the beginning credits was he? Guess we will find out, only one more episode to go before that half way mark. Dexter - Scott Miller - 10-27-2009 Maggers Wrote:This show keeps getting better and better. I'll have to disagree a bit here. I still think the show is great, but I'm struggling with a few elements of it. The biggest thing that bugs is me is where does he find the time to do all his stuff. The lady cop for instance: he had a window of 72 hours and he was able to deduce that she was indeed guilty by dismantling her dispose-all, testing the blood and then do his deed all while working. For someone who needs his kills to be as airtight as possible, this seems rushed at best with all sorts of events that could expose him. The other thing that bugs me is how much the police rely on a blood-spatter guy and how a suggestion from him can sway the entire department. Dexter has grown on me. The forensics bother me, but it's just a TV show. Meant to entertain not mirror what really happens in all instances. I'm not a forensics expert by any means, but it bothers me that no one is questioning some of the shit going down. Dexter - colburn0004 - 10-28-2009 I think the part about the department being swayed on what Dexter says can somewhat be explained by the books and the first season. They all thought Dexter had some odd sence about serial killers, and looked for his thoughts. It was the original reason Doakes (sp?) was always creeped out by him. He thought he was weird and that it was weird he had some odd insight on killers when no one else thought it was odd. It's pure entertainment for me and I don't let reality get in the way. Dexter is the focus of the show, so what Dexter does will be the focus and have more impact on the show, whether or not it would in real life. I agree that it is theatre and I don't mind artistic license to enhance entertainment value, but Dexter attempts to be grounded in realism and is becoming less realistic the longer it lasts. I only disagreed slightly because I don't think the show is getting better; I didn't think Season 3 was as good as the first two and the things I mentioned are making it more difficult for me to suspend my disbelief that Dexter wouldn't get caught is all, which is a problem I have with most series, be they TV or novels. Dexter remains one of the best series going, I enjoy it immensely and will keep watching. Dexter - Scott Miller - 11-29-2009 HOLY SHIT! I just watched last week's episode this morning and it is definitely up there as one of the best ever. Christine is Trinity's daughter?! Dex can't kill him now, can he?! I see Dex escaping family life by pushing Rita into Elliott's arms, but other than that I really don't have any idear as to how this one plays out. Dexter - Brian - 11-29-2009 Bah, it's turning into a fucking soap opera. Dexter - Scott Miller - 11-29-2009 Brian Wrote:Bah, it's turning into a fucking soap opera. Always has been, albeit a much bloodier than usual one.
