LOST Tonight!! - Lisa - 03-08-2007 Can I just say that I'm glad we seem to have moved away from The Others All Night Jail 'n' Grill (Billions of Folded Up Sandwiches and Monkey Pellets Served) and onto His Royal Hotness SAYID. Hallelujah baby! Edited for content. It seemed like a great line at 2AM. At 8AM it do seem a little over the top. Probably the best episode of the year. Locke is a moron. Sayid should have shot him in the f***ing head. LOST Tonight!! - Auskar - 03-08-2007 ccosborne3 Wrote:My vagina is getting all gooey just thinking about him. WAY too much information.... But what the heck has happened to Locke's ability to reason? That hatch implosion has made him a near-imbecile. He gets distracted by shiny things now. OK, a computer chess game isn't literally shiny, but it surely distracted him, even with a deadly enemy loosely bound lying at his feet. Normally, Locke wouldn't have taken his eyes off the guy. Now he goes into the next room, turns his back on the enemy, puts down his gun and starts playing chess! WTF??? AND he alerts the Dharma people and who knows who else that they are at the house. Double WTF???? Seems his hatch experience has created a compulsion to push buttons. I still like Locke, though. LOST Tonight!! - Auskar - 03-08-2007 Maggers Wrote:Great episode! Woo hoo, Sayed!I don't see any problem with Locke playing chess on the computer. He knew the place was wired to explode, and he reasoned out that if he pushed "77" (or whatever) that it would explode all the C4. He removed the temptation for people to go wandering around investigating and have things inadvertently explode and kill someone -- by blowing it up himself. THAT was why he was playing the chess game more than just once. I don't understand why that was a problem for anyone. Didn't anyone else kind of figure that the chess game had something to do with running the place before Locke sat down to play? Okay, maybe Locke got too focused and didn't make sure the prisoner was all secure all the time, but he had something big on his mind. Hmmm. 1) If I remember right Locke was in the back room playing chess before Sayid and Kate went into the basement and he was taken hostage by the escaped prisoner and moved outside before they came out, so Locke couldn't know about the C4 in the basement from contact with Kate and Sayid. 2) It seemed to me that the Dharma guy that came on the screen after Locke beat the computer was on a taped message that gave different answers depending on which scenario was in play. It is not clear that Locke was actually in contact with anyone since according to the message on the computer all outside communication links were down and if *hostiles* were in control of the site press *77*. And Locke typed it in. Now he did appear to go through the choices one more time and did not seemed surprised when the place exlpoded so I figure in knew what he was doing. But why was not made clear, Locke didn't say much. He is clearly on a different page than the other Losties. 3) Locke was the guy who was most into pushing the button in The Hatch, until he lost faith in the idea and stopped. And the whole thing went Boom! So, he knows The Flame was a Dharma site, he sees a computer running with a chess game ready to play, and he plays it. For a long while. Leaving Kate and Sayid to talk with the guy who shot Sayid but then claimed to be friendly. Only coming out when he here a fight going on in the front room between Sayid and the other guy. Locke is then supposed to be guarding the other guy but since he is unconscious and Locke really wants to play the computer game, he does. Leaving the prisoner unguarded and who then escapes and takes Locke captive. A bit long-winded. But I am not so sure Locke is running on all cylinders and even if he is on the right track he seems reckless about his own safety and the safety of others. 4) What does it all mean? I don't know but next week's episode could be very interesting. Locke had no idea what was in the basement, including another person or the explosives. He had no idea the house was wired to blow, so he could not have planned the explosion or known that it could happen. He seemed REALLY surprised and turned to Sayed with both surprise and an apologetic look on his face. I do think he wanted to see what would happen when he typed in 77, which he only did once, the latter time he was at the computer. The first time, the Eye Patch Man came up behind him with a knife and Locke didn't get a chance to input 77. Locke has become Hatch-impaired. God only knows what he actually experienced during the explosion, but of the three people closest to the innards of the hatch #1 is dead, #2 seems to see the future or the past or both, and #3 (Locke) can't NOT play with a Dharma computer and push a button all the while grinning foolishly. Quote:4) What does it all mean? I don't know but next week's episode could be very interesting.Indeed. I agree. That's the rollercoaster we call LOST. LOST Tonight!! - Don B - 03-08-2007 re: #2... Yeah, you're right about the Eye-Patch Guy interrupting Locke before he could type in *77*. The scene changed at that point and we don't see them again until Sayid and Kate come out of the house and then there was the face-off, ect. I find it hard to read Locke anymore. As I think about it, the expression on Locke's face probably was surprised and apologetic. He pushed the button just to see what would happen... I can see it. |
