Post-Harbingers Thoughts (SPOILERS) - GeraldRice - 10-26-2006

I want to know who is training yeniceri at the camp in Idaho(?). Is it someone like the twins?

I'd like an explanation for the twins. Are they from somewhere else like The Lady? Were they touched by the Ally in the same way Glaeken was? And who else is there? There couldn't have been just those 3.

My guess... at least some of these questions will be addressed in Bloodline. * crossing fingers *

I must admit I'm a bit confused by the twins / Glaeken / RJ

I thought the twins were sent (or given powers) because Glaeken lost his connection with the Ally

That being the case - why is RJ only the hier - if the Ally knew it needed the twins - why not empower RJ when the twins died?

Also not sure the Lady is fom somewhere else - I see as am embodiment of the Earth - mother earth as it were - she considers Ally & Otherness as being from elsewhere.

Sure all will become clear in the next few books

Post-Harbingers Thoughts (SPOILERS) - furin - 10-27-2006

Well... I see it this way.. Glaeken is still living, so he's still the Ally's lacky when needed (Mostly just to frighten Rasalom at seeing his arch foe) but basically doesn't have the power to back up his bark.

The Twins WERE the Heir and probably something about being an Occulus does something about their age or something, much like Glaeken. After they were killed the mantle was switched to Jack.

Reason Jack probably didn't become empowered right then and there is cause he still needed prepping to be a proper spear and/or to make sure he was adequate enough a fighter to really do anything against Rasalom and the Otherness.

But the twins already had eyes like the occulus so they were hardly normal mortals in waiting

Seems a bit inconsistent to me

Once Glaeken sent Rasalom to his end (he thought as did the Ally) his powers were released, possibly back to the Ally. The Ally and the Otherness lose interest in Earth. Years later as Rasalom plans to be re-born, the Twins must come about as the Ally must sense the Otherness yet again. Glaeken knows what is going on, after all he did sit outside the cemetary watching over little Danny's grave, waiting for the priest to come back. But Glaeken did want to stay off of Rasalom's radar, he didn't want him to know that he was old and not the threat he used to be. (If you haven't read The Adversary series, I highly recommend it.) Rasalom as a child was AFRAID of the very idea of a red haired man.....Glaeken.
Hopefully FPW will give us a few more hints about where the twins came form and what they were suppose to accomplish.

I am aware of the above - I just see some inconsistency between the powers the twins had & why jack is only the heir.

1) Glaeken looses his "powers" - Keep

2) Rasolom comes back - Reborn (unaware of Glaken until Reprisal - which is still to happen)

3) Twins come as Ally no longer has a power here (conspiracies)

4) The twins die, the Ally once again is with out a power here

So why is Jack only the heir, if Glaeken needs to die for the Ally to have a power here, how did the twins exist.

Sorry if this is obvious to others - I just think some confusion about the powers here who represent the ally.

Do you think the Ally chose the Twins as the new power, but the ladies wanted Jack as the heir? So the ladies helped Jack rid Earth of the Ally's influence, as if she didn't trust them and their agenda?

Now that is a twist I hadn't considered

I am sure we will learn more in future

On a different note do you think there will be links with reprisal in the next book?

Maybe Jack's baby burried in a certain graveyard, near a strange grave that no grass ever grows over?

Now that you mention it, that would be interesting! Only one thing for us to do.....wait for the next book.

Time to gather up and go home. Nice chat Britfan, be well.....
