I forget where I heard the phrase. What would you call it?

I don't know, survival kit or just supplies. Bug out sounds kind of tinfoil-hatish to me...

A well equipped emergency backpack/bag for each person, I would think should be essential.

Quote:Regarding the car as weapon thing - how far would that get them really? Mowing down a bunch of people with a car would wind up doing quite a bit of damage to the car, wouldn't it? I don't know for sure, since I've never just started running over people.

Striking a body would cause at the very least deep dents or a cracked window. Moving at a good clip could increase that damage. If your vehicle was your only means of escape, you don't want to mess with that.

Quote:Herschel's comment about the dead being resurrected had me laughing.

A different type of resurrection of the dead, for sure. LOL

No I haven't read the comics. I might check that out one of the days. I just have so much on my TBR list I don't know when I'll get caught up.

You can buy "apocalypse kits" online!

http://www.gerbergear.com/Apocalypse/Gear/Apocalypse-Kit_30-000601And didn't Hershel just say in last week's worth of emergency rations in the basement? Maybe they should've thought to keep a set in each vehicle.

And for those who are now going to be going thru "zombie" withdrawals:

I highly recommend this online "diary". It started back in Oct 2010 and he posted every day or every other day. I was hooked the first time I read it. It's actually just about to end. The last 2 entries will be up the next couple days (sniff sniff).

(If I already posted this before and don't remember it was probably an Ambien post.) ha ha

I think it's internet jargon. I wonder how many people actually keep all this stuff in a bag. (Bug Out Bag)

"Supplies" seems like a more reasonable description, since the likelihood of needing supplies is far greater than the likelihood of needing to "bug out".

Having witnessed my share of Demolition Derby's, the key would be driving in reverse to attack, driving forward to escape. Try not to take on damage to the front. Use the rear as a weapon.

Of course they could add some armor to the vehicles. They spent a lot of time screwing around at the farm, and in the woods (outside of Atlanta) you'd think they'd have considered more options.

Should you get the opportunity to read them, they are quite good. Kirkman, the author, is a fan of the old school Romero type, as is evidenced by the show, I mention this only to say that the books fit in so well with Romero's original trilogy.

On an unrelated/semi-related note, I believe it was you that had asked about Quinell's Creasy(Man on Fire)books, it appears they have made it to the kindle now and are only about $8 a piece. If you are like me and prefer the actual book, all but one of them were fairly cheap on Amazon as of noon today.
