What do you mean? I saw your origional post, and I believed you.

It is still a fun conversation to have since we (the posters) still don't know who the actor is.

If the actor is someone we won't like, then there is still a chance someone from Beacon will read what good old Terrific posts here, sack the actor, and hire based on my posts.

That could happen right? Big Grin

of course, Beacon will defer to you and everything we post here.
so- as they are reading this, they should sell to the rights to HBO and make a new series- each book could be a season.
If Marc W. does not want the part- give it to Timothy Oliphant- they guy from Deadwood.

I'd like to have some actor who could convey a guy who's been living out on the fringes of society for years. Someone dark, brooding and mysterious yet also blends into a crowd. We need some one chameleon-like in their portrayls.

I agree completely. You nailed the description of Jack. Now if only we could come up with an actor who fits the bill.

Perfect choice - I agree!

My ideal would be for him to be like he's described -- at best blandly handsome, maybe even just ordinary-looking. And dressing only in boring clothes that don't stand out. And there'd be maybe one scene in the movie where he changes his shirt or something and, as he does, you see that he's got like 10% body fat and is extremely mucular (in a lean kind of way)
Not sure I can think of anyone.

It seems to me that most of the suggestions so far fall short of this description. Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Jackman, Viggo, Edward Norton, etc. all have memorable faces. They are not the kinds of people you would overlook at first glance. However, I do have a suggestion that I am surprised nobody has mentioned. Matt Damon is perfect. He is not handsome, but people like him. Fits the bill 100%.

I think Judd Hirsch as perfect for Abe, but cant imagine the right chemistry between him and Damon.

Drew Barrymore is by far the best suggestion for Gia.

Salma Hayak would make a great Kolabati (whats all this about China ?) as, she can play numerous ethnicities believably.

Drew Barrymore....Noooooo! I couldn't bare to see Gia destroyed that way. We'd lose Gia; she'd disappear into Drew Barrymore, which is the opposite of what acting should be.

Matt Damon has been suggested for this role - but I don't know how to show a "direct guide" to where you can find these, I know I read them here - you just have to dig. (Or maybe some helpful person will read this and direct you to the findings.)

If you do a search on "Matt Damon" you'll see he's been mentioned alot, on many threads, too many to mention here, many having nothing to do with the RJ movie.
