Granted I've only seen the premiere episode, but this show seems smart, funny, well-acted, and unafraid to address some serious social issues in an unflinching manner. Looking forward to checking out the rest of season one.

What an interesting show this turned out to be. The premise is this: Mary Louise Parker plays the widowed mother of two boys who has no viable job options after hubby's death so she becomes a pot dealer. She lives in an upscale gated community, so in order to maintain her lifestyle she finds herself having to expand her business quickly. In the meantime, her kids are dealing with the loss of their father, her brother-in-law moves in, and we meet all sorts of people through her business.
The show has a bit of everything tossed in: comedy of all sorts, drama, social commentary, and one of the better cliffhanger endings I've seen. Worth the time if you enjoy offbeat dramedies.

I found it easier to watch in one go. When it was buried amongst other stuff on the tivo it rarely got picked as the one to watch, but I was always keen to watch another just after one had finished.

Not sure how I'll get to see the next season, I no longer have access to those channels.

Season 2 has been really good so far. I like this show a lot more than I did "Huff" or "Lucky Louie".

I watched Season 1 on DVD. There were only ten, thirty-minute episodes so it took less than a week for me to see the entire season.

I caught the entire second season of WEEDS over the weekend. Fabulous! Even though I missed the first season (but hope to be able to catch it on Showtime at some point), I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Mary-Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins look enough alike to be sisters, though they aren't here.
Surprisingly, I really like Kevin Nealon, whom I've always hated. I never cared for him on Saturday Night Live and I don't even know what, if any, movies he's been in since SNL. But the WEEDS role is tailor-made for him, and he shines in it. I think he ad libs some of his lines; they're hilarious.
There's not a weak cast member in the bunch. The writing is spot on, slyly funny. It's great fun to do a show like this in a marthon viewing, which is how I saw it. I recommend WEEDS highly.

I"m the odd man out here. I watched the first season and liked the first few episodes but found my attention wandering as it got deeper into the season. I haven't watched any of this year's episodes.
I was predisposed to like it, though, because I've seen Mary Louise Parker in a previous television series and thought she was great. Plus, she was also in one movie that I liked, too.
This isn't a slam, or anything. I'm just trying to reduce my television viewing so I am intentionally weaning out programs that aren't exceptional. Of course, some shows that I like a lot -- others may not think are very exceptional at all. I like stuff that is a little bit quirky or different.

I haven't seen Season 2 yet, but I thought Season 1 was one of the quirkier shows going. I also didn't find it great, but infinitely preferable to a lot of TV. Plus the shows are so short it doesn't feel like a huge chunk of time dedicated to viewing it.
